The Market and the Importance of Risk Management

Governance in public and private organizations has gained strength as an instrument to perpetuate their existence, maximize results and ensure stakeholder protection.

Several programs have emerged to support these demands, from the established ISO 9001 - Quality Management System, to anti-fraud models such as SOX and COSO, Information Security Systems (ISO/IEC 27001), Business Continuity (ISO 22301), Anti-bribery (ISO 37001), and regulatory efforts such as the Integrity Programs (Law 12.846/13) and the LGPD - General Law of Personal Data Protection (Law 13.709/18).

However, the achievement of results gravitates around the adequate management of associated risks, without which any planning is ineffective. Risk management is the central tool of corporate and public governance, as well as compliance and integrity, from which much of its structure derives, and on which its success depends.

The training of professionals capable of conducting effective and comprehensive risk management (from its identification to the definition of controls and monitoring methods) is essential to any organization wishing to generate results safely.

Target Audience and Objectives

This course prepares professionals of any background (Engineers, Administrators, Lawyers, IT Professionals, Economists, Accountants, Health Professionals, etc.), already working or wishing to work with Risk Management (responsible for management systems, managers, counselors, consultants, specialists, internal auditors, and the like), whether in its implementation, management, monitoring, or even auditing.

A better use of the course, given the density and specificities of the knowledge covered, requires prior knowledge or reading of the ISO 31000 standard, related legislation, articles or publications on the subject of risk management, and aspects of internal controls, since the course focuses on the aspects of interpretation, implementation, and monitoring. Practical knowledge in the above aspects facilitates learning, although it is not mandatory

 

Content and Methodology

During the training, discussions, alignments, and group workshops are held to fix the learning with a practical focus, providing the participant with the necessary inputs to understand the requirements of the standard and apply the tools for adequate multidisciplinary risk management:

  • Introduction to governance versus risk management;
  • Aspects of standardization and technical norms related to risk management;
  • Interpretation for implementation of the requirements of the ABNT NBR ISO 31000 - Risk Management standard;
  • Introduction to the COSO framework;
  • Strategic risk management;
  • Technical risk management process:

Step 0 - Assess the context and define the organizational and risk scope;

Step 1 - Determination of the Risk Management Team (risk committee);

Step 2 - Process mapping;

Step 3 - Risk identification;

Step 4 - Risk assessment;

Step 5 - Evaluating the cause of risks;

Step 6 - Determination of internal controls;

Step 7 - Risk Mitigation Analysis;

Step 8 - Methods for monitoring risks and evaluating the effectiveness of controls:

Step 9 - Group Workshops (practical consolidation of knowledge)

Step 10 - Final exam.

Certification and Accreditation

During the training, group workshops are held for practical fixation and calibration of the knowledge acquired. At the end of the last module, a test (final written exam) is held to evaluate the knowledge acquired.

A pass certificate will be provided to those with a performance higher than 70% on the final exam. Those who fail (with a score > 50%) are entitled to a free supplementary exam to be held within 30 days of completion of the training.

The training requires attendance (online) at least 75% of the course and participation in the workshops to make the exam possible. Those who fail the exam will receive a certificate of participation, without accreditation.

Classes are recorded for a period of 30 days for student reference, without prejudice to the attendance requirement.

TRADIUS is a PROCERT accredited training provider.


This course is accredited under No. CAP-004.

PROCERT is an independent professional evaluation and certificationbody operating under the international standard ISO/IEC 17024 and accredits courses based on criteria specifically defined by the accreditor drawn from ISO 29993 and ISO 29994.

This means that TRADIUS is periodically evaluated regarding its procedures, methodology, courseware, quality and competence of its training.
