International Law Programs

Fordham Summer Program
The summer academic program at Fordham is a three-week international law program and comparative law in Seoul, Korea. In the first edition of the program 87 students and professionals in law participated in it, with students from 35 law schools from the United States and Canada, including UC-Berkeley, Duke, Emory, Fordham, Hastings, North Carolina, NYU, and UCLA. The issue of 2007 will be held from 12 to 29 of June at Sungkyunkwan University College of Law.

Hague Course
The summer courses are taught in the Peace Palace in The Hague Academy for professionals from all over the world. The length of the sections is 3 weeks, including a general course of Public International Law and Private International Law, and courses on the most currently discussed topics, for which specilized professors in the area are called. The Course of Private International Law will take place from July 2 to 20, 2007, and the International Public from July 23 to August 10, 2007. The courses have simultaneous translation to English and French.

International Law Euro-Mediterranean Bancaja Courses
Through the participation of professors from the Mediterranean coast countries, the courses aim to discuss issues related to Peace and Development from a multicultural perspective. The goal is to provide students insights about issues of international law from professors who have a distinct cultural training. The course is held in Castellon, Spain, and in the year 2006 it took place from September 4 to 15.

Summer Course of the Humanitarian International Law Institute
The IIDH traditionally holds the Summer Course, aiming to promote a profound debate on certain humanitarian law issues. In the year of 2007 the International Humanitarian Law Institute held several courses on Armed Conflict International Law, International Law of Refugees, Migrants International Law, Displaced Persons International Law, Chemical Weapons Courses, among others. On the whole, 26 courses will be held in the year of 2007.

Institute of International Peace Research Summer Course in Geneva
Organized by the GIPRI foundation in Geneva, the course aims at the in-depth discussion of issues relating to peace in the international scenario. It is taught in French. The theme for 2006 was "La guerre est-elle une bonne affaire?", And was conducted from August 14 to 26, 2006. There is no scheduled date for the year 2007.

International School of Nuclear Law Course
The International School of Nuclear Law, linked to the University of Montpellier I, in collaboration with the Nuclear Energy Agency of the OECD promotes a course aimed at the analysis of issues relating to this field of study. It is recommended for students in master's or doctoral level, or for those professionals who work in the area. The course in 2007 will be held between August 27 and September 7, 2007.

International Law Course of the Institute of Public International Law and International Relations, Tessaloniki, Greece
The institute offers annually, at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, a course in Public International Law aimed at deepening the current issues in the area. The lectures are conducted in English, and also in French. The course will be held in September 2007, no date set yet.

Summer Course on the European Penal Space
The course is addressed to researchers and students in the policies of Justice and Security of the European Union. Its main subject is what is covered by Title VI of the EU Treaty. It is taught in Brussels. It was accomplished in 2006 July 3 to 14.
